Our unique owner-train program allows individuals to participate in the training of their own service dog for their disability-specific needs. Dogs in the owner-train program are held to the same high training standards. Our program Dogs have a required minimum of three hundred (350) hours of schooling over a period of at least six months to prepare the Dog to work obediently and unobtrusively in all public places. Teams must pass our Public Access Test (PAT) and Skills Assessment Test (SAT) before obtaining certification, and be re-evaluated annually. To qualify for our Owner Training Service Dog program the following requirements must be met: Qualification Information: Documented Disability Completion of our Disability application including Doctor forms Recent letter of support from treating specialist Ability to train and work with Dog outside of weekly class meetings Dog Requirements: Pass initial temperament evaluation screening with our Head Trainer Be under 2 years of age at the start of training Proof of vaccinations and health clearance from a licensed veterinarian
